I’ve been learning about
Filtered Doggy Water

Since I moved to Atlanta I noticed at  certain gas stations you can find a collection of Hispanic people waiting on the curb, hoping to find random freelance work. As I was driving I was thinking of ways to show God’s love to them. They probably experience a lot of racial tension from the locals, [...]

Slugs and Bugs. Cats and Clouds. [learning things through the charge of a camera battery]

Just about a week ago, through some really miraculous blogable instances, I bought my first professional video camera. I cannot even express how excited I was and still am about this. I have been filming tadpoles, beetles, clouds and moons in time lapse [high-speed], lizards, spiders on their webs, dragonflies, wake boarders, etc. [I haven't [...]

Stupid drivers. Smart God.

I was at a toll-booth in the middle of Atlanta rush hour traffic. The driver two cars in line ahead of me put their money in the dish and drove up to the lift gate only to find out they didn’t put in all the needed change. After almost a minute of sitting there I [...]

Stop Signs At Night

I was driving at 2am tonight and came to a stop sign, I admit I didn’t come to a full stop but I slowed down enough to see whether or not there were any cars, but it was a ghost town, there were none.    It reminded me of my sunday school teacher I had [...]

I Write Blogs, Because I Know Nothing.

“Those who talk, don’t know and those who know, don’t talk” -Lao Tzu*   I write blogs for the same reason a student writes a research paper: not to teach, but to learn. I have always learned from writing out my thoughts and ideas. I have also learned a ton from the responses and replies [...]

So, does this mean my Bible can be a tax write-off?

For about a half of year I didn’t watch one movie. My logic behind that was; interaction with people, without outside forms of entertainment, never compare to movies. For example, the most I have ever laughed wasn’t from a movie but from hanging out with friends. In fact the less outside forms of entertainment my [...]

The Spider and The Web

One time I felt like I was going through a spiritual detox. It’s when everything you thought you knew and thought you believed just gets flipped upside down. It’s not the most fun place to be in, sometimes it can bring you to tears and make you loose all purpose in life.   I remember [...]

A Failed Success Story

What inspires me most is not the profound or well-worded. It’s the most honest and transparent.    When people truly share themselves is when I learn. I hardly learn from someone that only shares the things of their life they are proud of.   Every exciting moment needs a backstory. The story of a kid [...]

Paper and Plastic

In attempts to learn more about God and constantly keep my thoughts occupied with love. I assume that getting rid of my cell phone, my internet, itouch and whatever else that can be a distraction from just constantly thinking about God. But it’s not always what you own but what you do with it.   [...]

Waterproof Drawings

So out of the Ten Commandments I think the one that seemed to fit the least to me is ‘honor the Sabbath’. I mean it seems like ‘don’t kill’, ‘don’t steal’ and ‘don’t commit adultery’ seem to make sense in “God’s most important commands” [as they seem, but really aren't*], but that one always seemed [...]

Right Place, Right Time.

I know a lot of blogs start with “I looked up at the stars” but I have no other way to start this:   I looked up at the stars and thought about how huge a star really is and how far away they all are from each other. I thought about how a [...]

World Changing Janitors

I was on set for a TV pilot a few days ago and I really felt right at home, I knew what needed to be done, how to do it, what things were called and it was great. When I am on film sets I start to feel incredibly fulfilled, it could be because I have [...]

The Ugly Forrest

While taking a stream hike I had to climb the knocked-over rotting trees, through the crumbled rocks and boulders that have fallen and I look up and see the beauty of the forrest. After taken a second look I realized that I was looking at dead rotting trees, water I cannot drink and defeated broken [...]

Misplaced Contentment

I remember in the fall of 2008 I was in a very dark place. I felt like God took all my views, opinions, thoughts and beliefs and flipped them upside-down. I remember feeling like God had a restraining order against me and we weren’t allowed the be in the same room.    I remember [...]

Road to Wonder

I am currently in the United Kingdom on a tour. This morning I woke up incredibly early and I got a chance to take a walk outside the bus and it was great to see the UK outside from the venues and restaurants I’ve been.   So I found a foot path that led [...]

Strange Beliefs

I have learned that the things I believe I get really weirded out by when they’re verbalized. I believe so many things as normal and then when someone or even I start to speak about my beliefs I start thinking, “do I really believe that”? I really start realizing that my beliefs and the Christian [...]

Big Shoes to Fill

I just got done watching one of the many films related to this ‘war on terror’ and suicide bombers. I don’t care to take this blog in the direction of saying who is right and who is wrong or whether or not we should be fighting at all, regardless we are in the middle of [...]

The Bullet and the Box-truck

I heard someone talking about their dear friend and said the common phrase, “I would take a bullet for them”.    For as long as I can remember, I would much rather die for someone than to be tortured for them. I am slightly excited to die in a curious/non-morbid way, I can at least [...]

Mindless chatter/Mindless prayer

One of my best friends lives in California, and we try to call each other as often as possible and catch up and hold each other accountable, etc. One time in particular I was talking to him while I was on the computer uploading pictures or checking on things, though not necessarily reading anything, but just [...]

Filtered for great taste

Unfortunately, every time I think of nature I instantly think tress, grass and bodies of water. So when I try to learn about God through nature I keep saying “ok God, teach me about you through trees”, tonight I realized that I haven’t limited what God can teach me, but I have limited what God [...]

Light, Food and Death

I am going to get the ball rolling on some questions, my intentions aren’t to make anyone stumble but only to make us look at God with more awe and wonder. I know that once I start asking, then I get more questions for a lot more things and I love it. It’s kind of [...]

No further questions your honor…

Unfortunately, I have been having a lack of questions, or I guess I have been getting bigger questions that I am reluctant to ask. It seems like before when I had a constant wonder about my God I asked questions all the time. I need to remember to get back into the mindset of ask [...]

Peanuts Without Water

I think the gospel in America has been cheapened from what it really is. I have never had cable in my life but while staying at a friends house I went to look for some nature channel and started to discover one of the reasons the gospel has been cheapened.   Everything I have [...]

Driving

In driving, it is very important to stay awake at the wheel, eating helps you stay awake, also fellowship among friends.   To keep spiritually awake you need to make sure you are being fed and stay in fellowship with other people.   It’s simple but I like it.   your friend,   -Isaac
